The spirit is the power of the mind to grasp ideas and to put them into action. The spirit transcends time and place; it is not subject to heredity or environment. Works outside the law of cause and effect. Works independently at a distance. Can be entirely spontaneous. Can operate on little or no information. Can die and come back to life. Can live forever. Can disappear forever. Can disappear forever and come back anyway. Beyond understanding. Has no life in itself. Entirely dependent on the mind. Entirely independent of one mind or group of minds. Free to roam the universe. Can be everywhere at once. Can be nowhere at all.Will not exist if the universe is destroyed. Will return if the universe is reborn. Is of God. Is not of God. Without it there's no point in living.
