Rule
of thumb: matter and energy are interchangeable. Are matter and energy the
basis for reality? Thought experiment: how could God create all things,
including energy, without first having energy? Thinking, which would be the
first step in creating, requires energy. At the very least, energy has always
existed.
God
is an idea - an idea that animates matter and energy.
Without
matter or energy, there is nothing. If you say spirit remains, than that's
tantamount to saying spirit has substance.
Matter/Energy
is the basis of Reality and without Reality there is no Existence. Existence
within Reality occurred when Mind formed out of a chance Matter/Energy
combination. For the first time there was something superior to Matter/Energy.
Though
Matter/Energy can be considered permanent, it can also be considered temporary.
This is due to its interchangeability, a constant mixing and re-mixing of
possibilities. But when Mind formed, Matter/Energy took a back seat to Mind,
which was permanent from its beginning. Thus Mind assumed control over
Matter/Energy and was then able to contemplate the creation of the physical
universe, our current Reality.
